Whether you're planning a wedding, a quinceañera, or a backyard party, the first question is always the same: how much do I actually need to rent? Here's how to get it right so every guest has a seat and every table looks complete.

Chairs — one per guest, plus a few

The math is easy: one chair for every guest. Then add 3–5 extra for late additions, vendors, or a comfort buffer. If you're hosting a ceremony and a separate reception in the same space, you only need one set — they're reused.

Tables — count your seats first

Pick your table style, then divide your guest count by how many each seats:

60" round table — seats 8–10 guests. The most popular choice for weddings and quinceañeras.
6 ft rectangle (banquet) table — seats 8 comfortably (or 10 if snug). Great for family-style and long head tables.
Cocktail tables — for standing, mingling and appetizers; plan about 1 per 4–6 guests at a cocktail-style event.

Quick formula: guest count ÷ 8 ≈ the number of dining tables you'll need.

Don't forget the "extra" tables: most events also need a gift table, a cake/dessert table, a food or buffet table or two, and a DJ/sign-in table. Add 3–5 extra tables beyond your guest seating.

Linens — one per table, sized to the table

Tents & canopies — plan for space

For an outdoor event, a rough rule of thumb is about 10–12 sq ft per guest for seated dining (less for standing-only). Make sure you have a flat, clear area and account for the space your tables and a buffet will take. For bigger setups we can help you size it. See tent & canopy rentals.

How many chairs should I rent for 100 guests?

Plan one chair per guest plus 3–5 extra — so about 105 chairs for 100 guests. For seating, that's roughly 11–12 sixty-inch round tables.

How many people fit at a 60" round table?

A 60" round table comfortably seats 8–10 guests. Eight gives everyone more elbow room; ten works for a fuller table.
